Marrakech is our busiest hub — most travelers fly in, spend a night in the medina, then head into the Atlas and the Sahara. Below are all 8 of our Marrakech-based itineraries, from short desert escapes to our longest grand circuit.
Merzouga, our main desert base, is about 9 hours by road from Marrakech. Most itineraries split this into two comfortable driving days with stops at Ait Ben Haddou and the Dades Valley.
Two days is tight for a full round trip, which is why our shortest option is 3 days — enough time to see the Atlas, a kasbah, and still get a full night in the Sahara camp.
For the final stretch into the dunes, yes — our tours use comfortable 4×4 vehicles for that section, with regular cars or minivans for the rest of the route.
