Tour Plan

Day 1: Marrakech -Ouarzazat-Boumalne Dadès

Depart from Marrakech and begin your journey towards the Sahara Desert, passing through the picturesque High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, stop at scenic viewpoints to take in the stunning landscapes. Your first major stop will be at the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, where you can explore the ancient fortifications and enjoy a delicious lunch.

Continue your journey to Ouarzazate, where you can visit the famous Atlas Studios, where many international films have been shot. Afterward, travel through the beautiful Rose Valley, known for its lush gardens and stunning views. You’ll also pass through the charming Kelaat M'Gouna, a town renowned for its production of rose water and its vibrant markets.

The road then takes you toward Boumalne Dadès, a town near the Dadès Gorges, where you’ll spend the night. This area is famous for its dramatic landscapes, deep gorges, and towering rock formations.

Day 2: Boumalne Dadès -Tinghir - merzouga

After breakfast in Boumalne Dadès, begin your day with a drive through the stunning Dades Valley, often referred to as the "Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs." The landscape is dotted with dramatic cliffs and ancient kasbahs, creating a beautiful contrast of colors and textures. Take your time to stop at viewpoints and explore the unique rock formations, such as the famous “Monkey Fingers,” before continuing your journey.

As you leave the Dades Valley, you’ll head towards the Tinghir region, passing through small Berber villages. You’ll stop at the Todra Gorge, a majestic canyon that cuts through the High Atlas Mountains. The towering limestone cliffs rise up to 300 meters high, making it a popular stop for photography and short hikes. If you’d like, take a walk through the gorge or relax by the river that runs through the base.

After the gorge, continue your journey eastward toward Erfoud, a town known for its fossil-rich terrain. Erfoud is also famous for its date palms and is a great place to stop for a break and try some local dates. You can visit one of the local fossil workshops to see how these ancient fossils are turned into beautiful sculptures and souvenirs.

From Erfoud, it’s a short drive to Merzouga, the gateway to the famous Erg Chebbi Dunes. As you approach Merzouga, the vast golden dunes of the Sahara begin to rise on the horizon, creating an unforgettable first impression of the desert.

Upon arrival in Merzouga, you’ll be greeted by your camel guides, who will help you mount your camel for the trek into the desert. The camel ride will take you through the mesmerizing Erg Chebbi dunes, where the sand stretches as far as the eye can see. After a tranquil and scenic ride, you’ll reach your desert camp, where you can relax, enjoy a traditional Berber meal, and watch the sunset over the dunes.

As night falls, enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the desert, listen to traditional music, and spend the night in a comfortable tent, surrounded by the quiet beauty of the Sahara.

Day 3: Merzouga to Fes

After breakfast at your desert camp, begin your drive from Merzouga towards Fes, covering the long but scenic journey. Along the way, enjoy the changing landscapes, from the vast Sahara dunes to the lush oases and mountainous terrain.

Key stops along the way might include:

  • Rissani: Brief stop to explore the local market and the historic town.
  • Ziz Valley: Take in the views of the palm groves and rugged landscapes.
  • Midelt: Stop for a quick break and light refreshments.
  • Ifrane: A short photo stop in this picturesque Alpine town.

After a full day of driving through beautiful Moroccan landscapes, you’ll arrive in Fes by evening. You'll be dropped off at your accommodation, where your tour concludes.
